Muzha Tieguanyin
Iron Goddess, or Tieguanyin, is a tea for the history books and one of tea’s great icons. We carry two versions on our regular roster (Iron Goddess & Iron Goddess Archetype), but this particular batch is so fantastic that we couldn't resist not bringing it in.
Mr. Chang has over five decades of experience making only Iron Goddess. That's a lot of accumulated trial and error. In fact, he is approaching 80 years old and is half retired. Colleagues from local producing regions and even from Fujian has offered him a great deal of compensation to teach, but he says he is too old to travel and can't be bothered.
His tea leaves are handpicked. The flesh of the leaves are hearty. He says the tea leaves of a real Iron Goddess when it’s steeped should always be thick and pliable, and not melt in your hands when you touch it.
Brew it on the stronger side. The liquor coats your mouth, and the aroma fills your nasal chambers and stays there for a while. We recommend paying attention for just a few minutes when you drink this tea. The rewards are tremendous.
A web exclusive product.
